The Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory
also known as LCT, is a research group belonging to both Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) and CNRS (UMR 7616).
The scientific activity
of the laboratory covers most of the fundamental aspects and of the fields of application of Theoretical Chemistry. This involves the modelling of complex systems concerning molecular chemistry, biochemistry, astrophysics and surface reactivity as well as methodological advances in the Density Functional Theory and Quantum Monte Carlo approaches. Epistemological considerations on conceptual chemistry are also developed.
Our scientific production has implications and applications in many domains : conceptual chemistry, chemical education, software developments, asymmetric synthesis, toxicology, astrophysics, study of the planetary atmospheres, catalysis, drugs, biomaterials…
The Laboratory is affiliated to :
The Faculty of Chemistry
The Doctoral School 388 : Physical and Analytical Chemistry
The "Institut Parisien de Chimie Physique et Théorique" IP2CT (FR2622) together with the Laboratoire de Chimie-Physique-Matière et Rayonnement (UMR7614) and the MONARIS (De la molécule aux nano-objets : réactivité, interactions et spectroscopies, UMR 8233).
